Whilst at Robert Brid Group David was responsible for the delivery and adaptation of the design of this grillage at Paddington Crossrail. It originally had 4 legs of equal length, but two of the legs were subsequently shortened to allow the grillage to be repurposed in a different location on the same site for later construction stages.
The grillage was fixed to the supporting concrete structure using post tensioned through-bolts coordinated with existing reinforcement.
